Course FAQs

Phonics is the method of teaching children how to read and write the alphabetic language. It is important for establishing and demonstrating a clear relationship between the sounds of the spoken words, letters and syllables and the written language.

Phonics helps children hear, identify and use different sounds that distinguish one word from another in the English language. Written language can be compared to a code. Phonics helps children in knowing the sounds of individual letters and how those letters sound when they’re combined. Through Phonics, children learn to decode words as they read. Children learn letter sounds, letter formation, and identify sounds for written words and letters.

Pre-primary and lower primary teachers.

You will develop proficiency in blending different sounds together, for example the consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) and consonant-consonant-vowel-consonant (CCVC) sounds.
